Stay warm this winter with a few hand-crafted cocktails from your favorite local distilleries. In fact, stay cool next summer by drinking a few as well. And now that I think about it, these fabulous places are open all year… (as if we needed to give you any reasons to check them out).
Creating a wide variety of spirits, 11 Wells Spirits in St. Paul is the go-to place for those wanting to try something new. Their Prototype Series offers a set of whiskeys made with different variables in order to create different flavors. Interested? Join the experiment.
Mastering the wizardry behind both distilling spirits and brewing beer, Bent Brewstillery definitely brings the heat. “We’re starving artists, just like craft wineries and breweries. We don’t do it for the money, we do it for the craft.” Sip on a hand-crafted beer or cocktail in the Taproom, grab some food nearby and spend some quality time with loved ones.
Family-owned and operated through and through, Du Nord Craft Spirits is a Twin Cities gem. Harvesting local ingredients and encouraging everyone (novice to expert) to come in and learn more about distilling, liquor and fun makes Du Nord Craft Spirits one spot everyone has to hit.
Minneapolis’ first distillery after the prohibition, Norseman Distillery, creates perfection. And if they don’t get it just right, they try again and again. Constantly changing their recipes in order to improve the overall cocktail experience, Norseman Distillery is always looking for new ways to switch things up – check out their cocktail room filled with excitement, a wonderful team and seasonal menus.
Established in 2014 by Michelle Winchester, Twin Spirits Distillery is the first one-woman owned distillery in Minnesota. Beginning with Momma’s Moonshine, Two Spirits Distillery now offers Vodka and Gin—stay tuned, Rum and Whiskey are on their way!
Located in Northeast Minneapolis, Wander North Distillery serves up some of the best drinks in the Twin Cities. They won’t throw you out if you ask for a whiskey and coke but while you’re there you should definitely try something off their seasonal menu.
