Still looking for weekend plans? Why not spend Sunday (August 20) hanging out with some of the coolest kids on the craft brewery scene in Northeast Minneapolis? At the Northeast Brewers Block Party, hosted at Sociable Cider Werks, you can rub elbows with the masterminds behind 11 local breweries/cideries, as well as sip their delicious brews, play yard games, see Northeast’s own summer Santa and more. Sounds like the perfect way to take in one of the last weekends of summer if you ask us.

And you know that any brewery event in Minneapolis and St. Paul is almost required to dish up the best food truck fare around. Visitors can expect tasty barbecue from Bark and the Bite, gourmet eats from Butcher Salt, from-scratch cooking by Red River Kitchen and pies by Vito Lucco Pizza Co. While you’re chowing down on locally-made grub, sway to the beat with live music by The Champions, Seaberg, Catbath, ENEMY PLANES and Apollo Cobra.

The event is free to attend and lasts from 2-9 p.m. but if you want to taste test some beers (and why wouldn’t you?), drink wristbands cost $5 with proceeds benefitting the SACA Food Shelf & Thrift Store. So really, you’re drinking to give back to the community! You can also go all out and get a $40 VIP package for all you can eat and drink, include dishes from Union Kitchen’s on-site chefs.
