HOLIDAY FUN AT THE BIG MALL

Ring in the season this holiday at Mall of America and Nickelodeon Universe.

The Mall of America is a must-see, must-shop destination in the Twin Cities. The mall that could fit nine Yankee Stadiums is frequented by locals and tourists alike. With over 500 stores, tons of dining options and even an indoor amusement park, the Mall of America is the perfect place to spend a day (or two) during your visit to the Twin Cities.

In case you haven’t noticed, the mall does everything big, and it’s no different when it comes to the holidays. The rotunda, located in the center of the mall on the first floor, gets dolled up with an oversized evergreen decked out with sparkling lights and giant ornaments. And Nickelodeon Universe, located adjacent to the rotunda, matches the excitement with events for all ages. (Also, be sure to see Santa while he’s still in town!)

Holiday Music Festival
Through December 23
Nothing will get you in the spirit of the season like music. Hear musical groups from area schools along with professional musicians perform in the rotunda daily until December 23. Performers include the Metropolitan Boys Choir (December 17), Bend in the River Big Band (December 18), and plenty more. Check out the full calendar here.

Rock the Red Kettle
December 16
See country rock star and local radio personality Chris Hawkey and his band perform live at this free concert in the rotunda. All donations given to The Salvation Army’s signature red kettle during the show will be triple-matched to help fund programs throughout the entire year in the Twin Cities.

Rock & Ride
Fridays through December 30
Nickelodeon Universe pulls out all the stops Friday evenings through the season for this kid-friendly event. Purchase a Twilight Ride wristband to enjoy the rides, then head to Hard Rock Café and show the wristband for a free kid’s meal with purchase of any adult meal. DJ Bob entertains the crowd later in the evening, and kids can get a hair-metal-inspired makeover by the Hard Rock Café Patio.

New Year’s Eve Moonlight Circus
December 31
If your New Year’s plans involve little ones, this is the place to be. Celebrate in Nickelodeon Universe with a festive ball drop, live entertainment, games, rides and giveaways. We recommend purchasing an Unlimited Ride wristband for a truly unforgettable experience.

DON’T MISS…

The Giving Tree
Through December 23

Be sure to check out the Giving Tree, located in Macy’s Court. Throughout the season, the Giving Tree provides gifts to homeless and low-income members of our community. Visit the tree and donate an ornament to hang on the tree, representing donations given through Catholic Charities. Last year, the program gathered nearly 2,000 gifts for those in need.
