Gavin Kaysen is a Food & Wine Best New Chef, James Beard Rising Star Chef, Michelin Star recipient and a Twin Cities native who has returned home to open his first restaurant, Spoon and Stable. Housed in a former stable in the landmark North Loop neighborhood of Minneapolis, the restaurant serves Midwest-inspired cuisine utilizing French techniques. The menu is divided into categories: garden, chilled, pasta, sea, land and sides, with a separate bar menu, but it’s the craftsmanship behind each item that truly stands out. The masterminds behind what is arguably the Twin Cities’ most anticipated restaurant opening have created an eatery recently dubbed one of the Best New Restaurants in America of 2015 by Eater, and is a Twin Cities favorite where two years after opening, reservations are still hard to come by.
