The T-Birds, Pink Ladies and Scorpions are coming to town—or to Chanhassen anyway—with the debut of Grease just two weeks from now. With Aleks Knezevich stepping into John Travolta’s role as Danny Zuko, and Caroline Innerbichler as the chaste Sandra Dee, there’s a reason why this is CDT’s No. 1 best seller in the theater’s history. And it’s back for round two!
As with all CDT performances, dinner is served prior to the start of the show, and there is no dining service during the production…that is unless you’re in the many scenes that take place in the Frosty Palace malt shop. The quintessential Rydell High hangout is home to memorable scenes like Frankie Avalon’s stint as Frenchy’s guardian angel in “Beauty School Drop Out” and a flying milkshake scene courtesy of Rizzo (aimed at Kenickie), while shouting “To you from me, pinkie lee!”
Full of award-winning songs—think “Look At Me, I’m Sandra Dee”, “Hopelessly Devoted To You”, “You’re The One That I Want” and of course, “We Go Together”—you’ll be hard-pressed to not sing along.
CDT is not only well-known for its performances (which have included the talents of Amy Adams), but also its dining fare. With both a matinee and dinner menu that include a complete wine list, appetizers and desserts, (we suggest the famous Chicken Chan), you’re sure to come hungry and leave singing. You won’t be disappointed.
Grease runs from March 3 through October 28 on the main stage, but buy your tickets soon as many nights are already sold out. Click here for tickets.
