This Lyn-Lake eatery’s inventive cuisine has won it early acclaim.

Minnesota native Jim Christiansen has had a hand in opening quite a few of the Twin Cities’ favorite fine dining establishments. Now he’s heading the kitchen of his own that has critics and reviewers drooling and raving. The Star Tribune gave it four stars, an honor only 13 local restaurants have received. Heyday is stationed in Minneapolis’ Lyn-Lake neighborhood and hosts daily dinner and weekend brunch with inventive yet focused fare, all with a twist of playfulness and creativity. Chilled blue mussels, lamb tartare and roasted squab are some of the dishes guests have been wild about, and the desserts have produced gold-star reviews, too.
