In the heart of Minneapolis’ Lyn-Lake district is the Jungle, an opulent small theater that offers up classics and new works with signature energy, invention and visual flair. A can’t-miss stop for those in the know about the Twin Cities theater scene, the Jungle has a rich history of artistic adventure and accomplishment that includes regular productions of some of the great English-language playwrights. This season, the Jungle shares the story of two dichotomous brothers—one is a pianist, the other a jazz bassist; one is a Christian, the other a Muslim; one is in jail, the other enjoying his freedom—in Bars and Measures (Aug. 26-Oct. 9, 2016). Also hitting the stage is The Oldest Boy, a tale that seamlessly weaves together American culture and Tibetan Buddhism (Nov. 4-Dec. 18, 2016).
