No other theater delves into the rich past (and sometimes present) of Minnesota with such variety, intelligence and respect for the region’s heritage. Recent plays have depicted the experience of immigrants in early Minnesota, legends from sports and culture, and the first stage play by Garrison Keillor. A vital part of the Twin Cities’ culture scene, History Theatre consistently attracts top-flight talent on its stage. Must-sees this fall are Teen Idol: The Bobby Vee Story (Oct. 1-30) and The Orphan Train (Nov. 19-Dec. 18).
