Whether you're an avid fan of the great American pastime or simply enjoy the ambiance of a baseball game (think $4 hot dogs and ice cold beer from Minnesota brewers), a Twins game is the perfect way to enjoy spring and summer in Minneapolis. The home opener is fast approaching—April 3 at 3:10 p.m. against the Kansas City Royals.
Baseball fans rejoice when the Twins take to Target Field in the spring and summer months. With top-of-the-line amenities, fan-tastic ballpark snacks and a gorgeous view of downtown Minneapolis, what’s not to love? When it opened in 2010, ESPN gave the ballpark its top honor: No.1 sports stadium. Since then, Target Field has continued to knock expectations out of the park with about 18,500 infield seats and more than 39,000 overall—you won’t find a bad seat in the entire place.
The Twins may not be the best team in the league, but Twin Citians love to show their staunch support—and it shows at games. The atmosphere is electric as fans cheer and carry tunes of sing-alongs with hot dogs, cracker jacks and beers in hand. I enjoy buying a general admission ticket for $20 (college students get in for $8 with their ID) and finding the perfect seat on my own. Plus, it's a fun way to explore new spots within the ballpark and try new food from hundreds of concession stands.
