Maybe you’re in town for a conference, or perhaps you’re just a Twin Citian in need of an after-work beverage. Either way, making it to a weeknight happy hour on time is sometimes flat out unrealistic. Here is a tasty sampling of our favorite Twin Cities happy hours that go beyond 6 o’clock on weeknights—and in some cases all the way to midnight. (Cheers to that!)

For $20 pair five cocktail teasers (we recommend Mother of Dragons) with six food teasers for a well-rounded happy hour. Otherwise sip on a $4 chelada beer like Ginger & Mary-Ann or Passion of Cayenne and all will be well.

Any happy hour that involves half-priced sushi is OK in our book. And when it also involves $5 margaritas and $7 sake sangria, you may as well reserve a table for the newest regulars. Not in the mood for fish? Fill the table with margherita flatbread, avocado egg rolls or cheeseburger sliders at less than $7 each.

If you’re staying, playing or living in Uptown, you need to cross Chino Latino off your Twin Cities bucket list. You may blush at the cheeky drink names, but they are delicious and a total steal at $6 or less during happy hour. Fusing Asian and Mexican cuisine, the food menu offers up $2 tacos, a $6 tuna roll and $5 guac served with plantain chips.

The Cherry Pit
This no-fuss sports bar in St. Paul loves its daily drink specials almost as much as its Tuesday and Friday meat raffles. (Tuesday nights also involve a free taco bar—need we say more?) Feel free to order a drink and “double it up” for $1.
