What are some good breakfast spots with outdoor dining?
My favorite breakfast spot in the Twin Cities is Nicollet Island Inn, located on Nicollet Island, a small piece of shoreline jutting out into the Mississippi River. The hotel and restaurant consistently tops lists of romantic getaway spots and favorite restaurants for foodies, and it's easy to see why when you're sitting on their patio with a delicious breakfast in front of you and views of the mighty Mississippi in the background. They open early for breakfast and serve wonderful coffee alongside a menu of “power breakfast” that will keep you going all day long. I recommend the sunrise porridge for a hearty yet light breakfast. You just might want to amp it up a bit with the tres leches french toast, though.
Check out places like Seven Steakhouse, Sushi & Rooftop for more upscale options or Smack Shack if you want some casual seafood fare.
